Fun in the sun!!!!

Yesterday we went to the splash pad with some friends. We had planned to go several times this summer, but we have been so busy that we have not been able to go. The kids had a great time, and we are planning on going again before school starts back!

Today Grace Anne decided that we needed to make a list of things we can got do as a family and things that she and Drew can do by themselves with just mommy or daddy. Check out her list below!
-Go and paint pottery(just GA and mommy)
-Go on a train ride(all 4 of us)
-Go to the mall and shop(just GA and mommy)
-Go to the zoo(all 4 of us)
-Go play golf with daddy(just Drew and daddy)
-Go to Chucky E Cheese(all 4 of us)
-Go get our nails done(just GA and mommy)
-Go roller skating(just GA and mommy)
-Go bowling(just GA and daddy)
-Go to Ed Venture(all 4 of us)
-Go to the fair(all 4 of us)
-Go and get shaved ice(all 4 of us)

She is a mess, she said that she will save up all her money so we can go and do ALL those things!!! She is growing us so fast! I can't believe she is going to be starting kindergarten in just a few weeks. Drew and I are going to miss her while she is at school. She is such a sweet girl.:-)

Check out the new haircut's!

Today the kids both got their haircut!

We have had a fun filled week so far. On Monday Grace Anne went to a birthday party. She was so excited to see her friends from pre-school! Emma Claire had a great party. All the girls went to a salon and got their nails painted, and then they finished up the party at Chick-fil-A! Grace Anne had a wonderful time! Thanks Emma Claire for inviting her to your super fun party!

This morning Grace Anne went to church to kids morning. She has been going each Tuesday this month and has enjoyed it. Drew and I ran some errands and then we went and had lunch with Daniel and Grace Anne. After lunch I took the kids for a much needed haircut. That is a story in itself! Let's just say it was an adventure!:-)

We are planning on getting together with some friends tomorrow and on Thursday Grace Anne's 4k teacher is coming over for lunch! We are so excited and can't wait to visit with Mrs. Bertram. Grace Anne has been asking all summer to see her!

Before I end this post, I would like to add two prayer request. Please remember Daniel's grandmother(Great Granny), she will be 90 in September. She is in the hospital, she is doing better and we are hoping that she will get out in the next few days. Also please pray for one of my friends Kacie and her husband Jason. Jason is serving our country in Iraq. Please pray for his safety and for Kacie and the kids while he is away. Thanks so much for your prayers!!!! Love to you all, Lori

My thoughts for the day

This week has been wild and crazy, or I guess I should say my kids have been wild and crazy!!! Sometimes I feel like everything is going in fast motion except me. The summer has flown by and the kids are growing up so fast. Drew started potty training this week and Grace Anne starts Kindergarten in 3 weeks. :-( My kids are getting way too big! It seems like they should still be little babies!

Even though the summer has flown by and it has been VERY busy, we still have managed to have FUN! The kids have had a great time hanging out with friends(and not having a bedtime)!

We have some wonderful friends here and an awesome church. After 2 years of being in South Carolina, it is finally feeling like home!:-) I am excited about what our future holds. God's plans are so much better than ours and our desire is to be in God's will. I look forward to what He has for us on this wonderful journey.

Well, that is enough of my thoughts for now, I hope you have a great weekend!!!

Our weekend

On Saturday night we went with a group of friends from church to a baseball game. It was the kids first time to watch baseball. We had a good time. Drew was super excited, he kept saying "hit ball!!!hit ball".

Then on Sunday Daniel was able to preach at our church. He did a wonderful job. He always loves when he gets the opportunity to share God's word.

As for this week the kids and I have plans to go to the movies, go to the dentist, and hang out with friends. We only have 4 weeks until school starts back, so we are going to try to enjoy every minute of the rest of our summer!

Our trip!!!

We just got back from a wonderful vacation. Daniel had a conference in Nashville this past week. We took the kids to Muscle Shoals to stay with family and we headed off to Nashville. It was so nice. We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. It was unbelievable!!! If you have not been there, it is definitely somewhere you need to visit. The hotel is HUGE, and everything is beautiful. Everything is inside the hotel, waterfalls, trees, river, flowers and lots more(it has a glass roof). I have posted some pictures below.

It was so nice for the two of us to get away for a few days. We did not know what to do with ourselves. Daniel had meetings during the day, but his nights were free. We went to the movies, OpryMills, took a boat ride in our hotel (I told you it was unbelievable!!!). We had a great time together, but by the end of the week we were both ready to see the kids!

The kids had a blast with family. They spent most of the time with Daniel's parents(Granny and Poppa). They also spent the night with my brother. They had so much fun getting spoiled!!! The kids also got to visit with Great Granny (Daniel's grandmother) and PawPaw Andy (my grandfather). We all had a great vacation!!!

Blessed

We are so blessed and thankful for God's mercy and grace. Last night Daniel, the kids and myself were on our way to church and was hit by a drunk driver. No one was hurt, praise the Lord! The driver was in the median and was trying to make a U turn. I honked the horn and tried to swerve away from him, but he still managed to run right into the front tire on the drivers side. I notice that he was not stopping so I started yelling the tag number out as Daniel was talking to 911. They did catch him. We later found out that he also hit a parked car right before he hit us. We are so thankful that no one was hurt. The man had to be taken to the hospital for blood work because he was so drunk he could not walk by himself. Our van was messed up pretty bad, and had to be towed. I will admit it has been a pain calling the insurance companies, getting a rental car and all that stuff but I am so thankful for God's protection. He took care of us and everyone else that was driving on that same road last night. We are praying for the driver of the car, if he does not have a relationship with God, our prayer is that somehow he will through this situation.

On a brighter note:-). I have posted pictures of Grace Anne and her new bed! We ordered it a little over a month ago and it finally came it. She is so exctied, we moved things around in her room and it has given her a lot more room to play. We are still working on hanging pictures and all that stuff. Hope you enjoy the pictures of her showing off her room:-).

Well, that's all for now. We are getting ready for our trip to Alabama/Nashville. Check back next weekend to hear about our trip!

Happy 4th of July!

We started off our day being LAZY, and it was sooo nice!!! We all slept in until @10:00! In an earlier post I said that we don't have a schedule during the summer. Well, I guess that means bedtimes as well. The kids have been going to bed LATE, like @10:30 every night this week. So, we have been sleeping in! We laid around most of the day enjoying doing nothing.:-)
This evening we enjoyed hanging out with our small group from church. We love this group and are so thankful that God brought them into our lives. The kids all had a great time swimming and playing together. Drew was our entrainment for the night. He is such a little comedian! He put a show on for us while eating his ice cream(I have posted pictures below). Drew loves to be around people and loves to be the center of attention! We also got to see a great firework show that someone was putting on a street behind where we were. It lasted at least an hour! We all had a blast! Thanks Josh, Ashley and girls for having us over! We look forward to hanging out again soon!
It's sparkler time!
Our sweet girl posing for the camera
I guess you can tell that Drew enjoyed this ice cream!!!
Yea, we had to get the water hose after him!:-) Summer Fun!!!
