Christmas Letter 2010

Merry Christmas!

Wow! Where did this year go? I really don't know where to begin, so bear with me as I fill you in on our year.

In February we celebrated our little man's 4th Birthday. Drew is ALL BOY and is the comedian of the family! He keeps us on our toes! There is never a dull moment around our house with Drew around.:-) He is in 4k this year and is looking forward to going to "BIG" school next year. Drew is such a loving little boy and is a joy to be around.

We spent Spring Break in Louisiana this year visiting my parents. The kids LOVED going to Nana and PopPop's house! We had a wonderful week with them and wish that they lived closer(14 hours is just too far!).
The kids enjoyed getting spoiled! HA!

In May, Daniel received his Bachelor's Degree! You can CLICK HERE and read about how proud we are of him!

Also, in May we received news that Daniel needed to have open heart surgery. This was something that we knew he needed but we did not know that he needed to have it done so quickly. So on June 3, Daniel had his aortic valve replaced. We were completely overwhelmed by the number of people that was praying for our family. There were people, cities and churches that we had never heard of lifting Daniel up in prayer. God heard every one of those prayers and I can't even begin to explain the peace and love that we felt during that time. Also, the love that was shown to us was unbelievable. We are truly blessed with wonderful family, friends(both near and far) and an awesome church family. We could not have made it though this time with out each one of you. We can't thank you enough! To visit the blog that we posted updates on during his surgery you can CLICK HERE.

Daniel is doing GREAT from his surgery! He was back to work within 4 weeks and has not had any problems. He says he feels better than he ever has! Praise the Lord!

In September Daniel and I celebrated our 11th anniversary! I guess I should update a little on what we have been up to.:-) Daniel is still serving on staff full time at Southside Baptist Church and he is also working on getting his Master's Degree and getting CCA certified. I work at Grace Anne's School as a substitute teacher(kindergarten- 6th grade). I am enjoying working and although I am sad about my little man staring "BIG" school, I will be glad when the 3 of us are all at the same school!:-)

Also, in September, we headed to South Alabama for a wedding and spent 4 days with our Dothan Family! We enjoyed hanging out with our friends/family that we love and miss so much. Daniel was honored to perform his first wedding ceremony and the kids loved being the flower girl and ring bearer. Thank you so much Amber and David for allowing us to be a part of your special day!

In November we added a new member to the family
Meet Sophie! She is very much loved and spoiled!:-)

Also, in November we celebrated Grace Anne's 8th birthday!
Grace Anne is in the 2nd grade and loves school. She is still taking dance and has turned into our little dancer. She has such a giving spirit about her and loves to help others. She also loves her brother and he loves her! Now don't get me wrong, they have their share of brother/sister fights, but they are the best of friends! I pray that they will always remain close and watch after one another! We are truly blessed with 2 wonderful children and we thank God daily for allowing us to be their earthly parents.

Well, that sums up our year. I update this blog several times a month, so be sure to check back again soon!
We pray you have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New year!

Daniel, Lori, Grace Anne, Drew and Sophie

A time of giving

A few weeks ago we filled our shoe boxes!
This is something that we love to do and look forward to each year. Both Drew and Grace Anne were very excited about shopping for another child and had a good time at the Dollar Tree filling up the boxes.:-)
We came home and packed the boxes, wrote letters to the children that will receive the boxes and prayed over the boxes. This is always a special moment that I love sharing with my children and I pray that they will always have a giving heart.

Grace Anne writing her letter.

All packed up and ready to go!:-) This year we paid for the postage online so we will be able to track the the boxes and see which country they go to. We are super excited and can't wait to see where they end up!
As the holiday's are quickly approaching, I can't help but think of all the blessings that we have encountered this year. We have so much to be thankful for, God is so good!
I pray that you have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Very Merry Christmas!

Halloween weekend

I am so over Halloween!HA!
For some reason, the city decided to move Halloween to the 30th this year?!?!? So, this was the first time EVER that my kids have gone trick or treating. We started off our evening by having a spooky dinner.............

monster fingers, mummy wraps, and apple bites!
Then I got my little rock star and pirate ready.
After our photo shoot, we went and walked our neighborhood and got LOTS of candy!
Then on HALLOWEEN, Sunday Oct. 31st. We went to our church fall festival.
We had a house full of girls come over and get ready before heading to the festival(poor Drew!!!HAHA!).
Here are some pictures of our photo shoot!
