Family Night

For the past year, we have set aside Friday nights as our "Family Night". We usually will play games, watch a movie, or just doing something that the kids want to do. We keep it simple:-).

I have been wanting to step up our family nights for a while now, especially since I have been following this blog and seeing how much fun they have on Family Night! Also, my sweet friend Susanne, does a wonderful job as well on planning family nights!

I have not had the time or energy to do it, but this past week I decided I was going to make time to plan our family night, and I am SOOOO glad I did! My kids LOVED it and they are asking what the theme for next week is!!!!:-)

So here are some pictures from our first
"Planned" family night.......
BOWLING NIGHT

We started off our night with dinner.
We had homemade Pizza, and it was YUMMY!
Daniel turned on some "bowling music"

to get the party started!:-)

Then it was time for BOWLING!!!

We played pin the "Pin" on the bowling ball man!

...I guess you are wondering what
the kids are begging me for:-)
They were ready for our dessert......
Bowling ball cupcakes
And this my friends is the end to a
GREAT Family night!!!!!!:-)

We had so much fun! When I have mentioned doing this in the past Daniel has given me his "I don't think so" look. Well, I think he enjoyed it more than
the kids did!!!!:-)

The planning was not hard or time consuming! It was very easy to plan, but I have to admit, it does help having blogs like Heather's to help you out on ideas and to get you motivated!!!:-)

100 days of school!!!!!

Today Grace Anne's class celebrated the 100th day of school!
It was a fun day full of lots of activities. On our way home from school GA said "Mom, I am WORN OUT"!!! That was exactly how I felt too!:-)
Here are some pictures from our day.....

GA and her teacher during show and tell time

Each student had to bring in 100 of something!

Daniel and I had a wonderful weekend away at Shepherding the Staff.

This conference was sponsored by the South Carolina Baptist Association for Staff members and their spouses.

It was very nice to get away and enjoy some alone time with Daniel and also fellowship with our friends/co-workers. Daniel does a great job telling about our experience at the conference on his blog, you can check it out there.

This weekend was a BLAST, we did ALOT of laughing and making memories!

Here we are in the Lobby late Saturday night waiting on
These guys to bring us Donuts!
And yes they brought us ALL back hats!!! The view from our room.....it was too cold to go on the beach, but the view was nice:-).

I am very thankful for our weekend get-away, I am looking forward to next years trip!

Christmas in January = MORE TOYS
Daniel's parents were here this past weekend. We have not seen them since Thanksgiving. The kids LOVED having Granny and Papa here!

I know you are thinking why did ya'll wait so LONG to have Christmas!
Well, they were so kind to push our Christmas with them back a month so they could come and keep the kids while Daniel and I were gone on a
church staff retreat.
Thanks Granny and Papa for a fun weekend!!!!

Does this really start in kindergarten?????

Okay people, am I old fashion or do kids really start calling each other in kindergarten????

Last week the phone rang and guess who it was for...............
GRACE ANNE
And she has gotten more than just one phone call!!!!!

Oh and by the way, Grace Anne LOVES getting phone calls.
She has been coming home from school with phone numbers and asking if she can call her friends.
Am I a mean momma by telling her NO???

It does not bother me that her friends are calling her, but I am not sure if I am ready for her to start calling people yet.

Is this normal? Am I out of the loop, do kids really call each other at this age?
Please leave me some comments about this!!!
I need HELP!!!

These Boots are made for walking.......

When we were home for Thanksgiving, my sister-in-law found Austin's old cowboy boots and thought Drew might like to play with them.

And that was how it all got started! Thanks Aunt Sandy!!!:-)
Drew absolutely LOVES his boots, he wears them ALL the time.

And when I say ALL the time, that's what I mean! He would wear them to bed if we would let him!

The first thing he does when he wakes up is put on his boots, and he wears them ALL DAY LONG! And he could care less that they are 4x too big for him!!!

Here are some pictures to show you what I am talking about......
I know he is going to KILL me when he gets older, but I had to share this picture! I am sure you can tell by now that Drew has an imagination and he LOVES to dress up and pretend to be different characters.
Well, his new thing is to take off all his clothes(except his underwear) and then he puts on his cape and boots and he becomes a WRESTLER!!!

And I promise when I say this, I have NO idea where he came up with the idea! He has NEVER seen wrestling on T.V. even though his daddy is a closet wrestling fan, Drew has NEVER seen it!:-)

We never know what that boy is going to come up with! He is soo funny and is a joy to be around, he is always making us laugh!

Yes that is Drew and his boots. I told you he wears them EVERYWHERE!
And I guess you are wondering what he is doing???

He was getting the last pack of pull-ups for me, they were WAY back there. I thought it would be cuter if he crawled back there and got them instead of ME!:-)

Notice anything different?
He has on a NEW pair of boots!

He is now the proud owner of his own boots that are
only 2x to big!:-)

And YES, Power Rangers can wear boots too!

Our little Drew Boo keeps us on our toes. He is at the sweetest age and he is so much fun! Everyday is an adventure around our house.
I can't wait to see what else he comes up with!
