Friday night was a great example of how plans can change in an instant.
Grace Anne was so excited because her friend Maggie was spending the night! We picked the girls up from school and came home. They played and played and was having a GREAT time! We ate dinner and the kids wanted to go out to play, so we all headed outside. It was not too long after that our "plans" for the evening came to a halt and we were headed to the ER with Grace Anne.
She was swinging and somehow fell out of the swing and landed on her face. Daniel rushed over to help her, she was crying and holding her wrist (that was very much swollen and did not look normal at all). I have to admit that I did not handle this well at all! I felt sick at my stomach and all I wanted to do was take the pain away from my baby girl.
As God would have it, our wonderful neighbors Shannon and Jordan were outside talking to us. They were a HUGE blessing, we left the kids with them and then spent the next 3 hours in the ER.
Grace Anne was a TROOPER! I am so proud of her! She was very calm through it all (unlike her mom). She got upset at times, but she handled the whole ordeal a lot better than I would have!
The ER was wonderful, they got us back within 15 mins. and began taking care of her. The x-rays did show that she had broken her radius bone (the bone in her wrist).

Here she is after she got her IV(which she DID NOT like at all). She was a lot happier after it was over! They had to give her some medicine that made her fall asleep for a few minutes so they could set her bone back in place. She did great!

Here she today! She has done very well, she was in pain this morning, but after she got some pain medicine in her she is doing better.

Grace Anne is having a HARD time dealing with the fact that she broke her left arm and she is LEFT handed! She loves to draw and color, she is my crafty girl. This morning she tried writing with her right hand......she got very discouraged. Please pray that she will adjust to this.

This is what she will be doing for the next couple of days.......REST! We go next week to the doctor and they will do more x-rays and see if the bone is setting correctly. If it is, she will then get a hard cast. If not, they may have to do surgery to reset the bone. We are praying for the first!
Again, we are holding Jeremiah 29:11 close to our hearts. Already God has taught us so much through this. I am glad that God is in control of our lives. His plans are always better than ours!
Please keep us in your prayers, the next 6 weeks or so will definitely be challenging, especially for Grace Anne!
*By the way, Grace Anne was very upset that Maggie did not get to spend the night with her! She is already asking when are we going to reschedule the sleep over! I promised her we would VERY SOON!
