Sweet Treats!

Grace Anne decided we should make treats for our neighbors. So I searched Pinterest and we decided to try something new. 

GA getting the marshmallows ready. 

We then dipped in Carmel and let it harden. 

Next we dipped in white chocolate and added some sprinkles to make it festival. 

We bagged them up and added a tag and delivered them to the neighbors. 

I know they don't look the prettiest, but they were pretty tasty! 

Summer slow down!

I can't believe that it is already July! I love summer for many reasons but the main reason is that I get to spend 24/7 with my kids. I also love not having a bedtime, sleeping in, and late night sonic runs(1/2 off milkshakes are the best).  I absolutely love having no schedule and no homework!!!!  

Due to my love of summer break, I seriously go into depression when August 1st hits the calendar! 

So in saying that, I am going to enjoy and take in every minute of the summer! It's is going by too fast but we are doing our best to forget that it is almost halfway over!

Happy 4th!

We woke up this morning and it was raining. It rained ALL day and night! We made the best of it and had a much needed lazy day at home. 

After dinner we enjoyed some watermelon and then built a fort in the living room!

We had decided earlier that we were not going to the firework show due to the weather. But we looked outside and saw the rain had stopped and told the kid to grab their shoes and we were going to see the fireworks! 

Did I mention that the kids had on their pj's!?!? 

We decided to not fight the crowd and we went to my aunts house and had a great view!

Weekend get away!

I'm a little behind on posting but I am going to get caught up sooner than later!

A few weekends ago, Daniel and I went on a little unplanned get away. The kids went to spend the night with granny and papa so I called Daniel and told him I would pick him up from work and we were going on a much needed date!

I picked him up and the next thing he knew we were heading out of town. We ended up in Huntsville and had a great time eating going to the movies and eating some more! The big surprise was that I packed an over night bag and we spent the night! 

 

We can't go anywhere that is close to GiGi's and not make a detour! 

We had a wonderful time and hope to go on many more spur of the moment date trips! 

Helen Keller Festival

We enjoyed the Helen Keller festival. I have tons of memories of going to this festival as a kid. I loved sharing these memories with my own children. 

The kids had a blast at the parade on Thursday night. 

On Saturday we headed to park and enjoyed the festival. The kids loved jumping!

On Sunday evening, Grace Anne and I went back to the park to see the sidewalk prophets concert!  GA loved playing with the twins(they go to our church). 

 

It was a great weekend and the weather was perfect! The only thing we didn't do was go the the Helen Keller play that is performed at her home(which is less than 10 mins from our house. We will have to catch that next time! 

Summer fun!

Last week Grace Anne had her friend Emma spend the night. The kids were getting a little bored so we loaded up and headed to the splash pad!

I wasn't sure if they would think they were to old for the splash pad and not like it but they had a great time! Looks like we will be visiting the splash pad more often!

South Carolina Fun!

The kids and I just got back from SC! We had a blast! From a week full of VBS to swimming, playing with friends, sleepovers to having lunch with old school teachers! You name it we did it!

During the trip we realized three things. One was that the drive from AL to SC is way too long and we are so glad we now live 5 minutes from family and not 9 hours!  Second thing was that we missed Daddy and he has to come with us next time! Third was that we miss our friends in SC terribly and think they need to move to Bama!!!!  

We headed back home on Friday afternoon and both kids were wore out! They went fast to sleep and left the driving to momma!!!

Friday night in Alabama

Grace Anne had Sophie over today and Drew went to spend the night with Granny and papa. The girls painted nails, danced, played school, and jumped on the trampoline all day! They have had so much fun. 

Tonight we made pizza's for dinner and the girls loved doing that. 

After dinner we headed to Miami Ice for a treat. We decided to go to spring park and walk around and let the girl play.

Daniel and Emma thought it would be fun to photo bomb the picture! Haha. 

As we were walking around trying to avoid being chased by the geese. I saw a little red truck flying down the hill and it hit the curb and then ran into a little building that was in front of the pond. It was very scary! There were people setting on benches just a few feet from where the truck crashed!  We all ran over and the people in the truck were banged up pretty bad. Come to find out, the guy was bringing his girlfriend down to the park to propose to her but as they were coming down the hill the breaks gave out! Right before they put the girl on the stretcher, he got down on one knee and proposed!!!!

I don't know about you but I'm not so sure I would have said yes, maybe that wreck was a little hint that maybe the proposal shouldn't happen! Ha! 

So that my friends wraps up our Friday night! Lol

Last night Grace Anne spent the night with nana and pawpaw. Drew decided he was going to be our waiter. 

What a little cutie. He is all boy, but he also has the sweetest heart! 

I noticed Drew was in the kitchen busy doing something and then he brought this plate full of snacks and set it on my chair and one on Daniel's chair. How sweet is that?  Even though neither of us were hungry we had no choice but to eat what our sweet boy had been so kind to fix. 

I missed having my girl around but it was nice to have some one on one time with my boy! 

Tonight we went to Emma's softball game and then headed over to Buffalo Wild Wings with the family for dinner.

Being around family is something that we aren't use to, but we are loving it! 

Summer Loving

Summer, I can't believe it is already here! This year flew by, too fast if you ask me. Today we had a lazy day that consist of staying in our pajamas most of the day.  The kids were busy playing and even set up an indoor campground in Grace Anne's room. They went to sleep in their sleeping bags, wondering if this campout will last through the night?

We went out for a Miami Ice treat after dinner and made a stop by nana and pawpaws house.  I told them to get together so I could take their picture and this is what I get! Silly kids!

Back to blogging...........for real this time!

I have decided that I am going to take a break from Facebook. I have a love/hate relationship with FB. I love keeping up with friends and family but I hate that some people use it in a negative way. Plus I truly have missed blogging and I have finally added the blogger app to my phone so that makes blogging so much easier!

I was an active blogger from 2008-2010 and I love looking back and going down memory lane. I love that I have milestones and pictures captured in writing.

So I am determined to start my blogging journey again! I want to capture as many memories as I can. After all, my kids aren't getting any younger. The time is flying by!  So instead of posting pictures and status updates on FB you will find all that here!

The BIG 4-0!!!!!

We celebrated my brothers 40th Birthday this week!

 Lee came over when he got off work thinking we were just going to have a simple dinner to celebrate his Birthday.  He was VERY surprised to walk in to and see the house decorated and everyone wearing BLACK!  HAHA!!!!

 We all had a great time celebrating Lee! We did miss Austin, he had to work, but he was able to stop by before the party was over. 

I am so blessed to have the relationship that I do with my brother.  He's not only my brother, he's my best friend! I love you Bubba, hope you had a great 40th!
