not much blogging going on......

I am sorry to say that my lack of blogging is probably not going to get better any time soon! Our summer is coming to an end way to quick!

Here is a fast update on us..........
I am very excited that I am going to start off the school year as a long term sub. The kids and I have been hanging out at school this week working on my classroom and I have to say that having a 7 year old and 4 year old help is not the best idea in the world!HA!
I start work this coming Monday and Grace Anne will start on Monday, Aug. 16th.
So if I don't blog as often or even at all, then you know why.:-)
I think Grace Anne is ready for school to start. Today we registered her and found out who her teacher will be and also she found out that her BFF was in her class again this year, so that made her year!
Drew says he does not want school to start! His first day is not until Aug. 25th, so he will be going and spending a week in Alabama with family and he is so excited because he gets to go and sister doesn't!HA!
Daniel is still doing GREAT and staying busy with work and keeping up with us!
Well, that sums up what is going on in our life.
Is the rest of the world as CRAZY BUSY as us?!?!?!

Beach Day!!!

Yesterday the kids and I spent the day at the beach! Tami went with us and we all had a GREAT time!!!!

Long time no blog!!!!

I know, I know, I have been slack on the blogging! We have been soaking in every bit of summer. Sleeping late, swimming, fun with friends, no bedtime........Life has been absolutely wonderful! :-)

The kids started swimming lessons last week. If any of you know us well, then you already know that my kids HATE swimming lessons and every year we have to drag them kicking and screaming. I was expecting the same thing this year but to my surprise I was WRONG!!!!

Grace Anne has a huge fear of the water. The poor girl would not get her feet off the bottom of the pool for NOTHING(and trust me I mean NOTHING, we bribed her with some really BIG things!!!!HA) She was happy just playing around in the shallow and not getting her face too wet and NEVER letting her feet leave the bottom of the pool!

Well, this year Daniel and I went back and forth about swimming lessons. One of us was for it the other was not. I won't tell who wasn't for it, but it is not the person writing his post!;-) So to make a long story short, the kids started swimming lessons last week! We did it a little different this year. We had private lessons at a friends house. I don't know what the trick was but this years lessons have been a SUCCESS so far!!!!!!!!!
The picture below is of my sweet Grace Anne jumping in the pool! I know you are thinking that is not a big deal, but this is the first time EVER in her 7 years to EVER jump in a pool!

So this was a BIG deal around out house!:-)
Her normal response to jumping in is crying and running as far away from the pool as she can!
If you think I got excited about her jumping in the pool, you don't even want to know what I did when she did this.......................................................................

Yes, you are seeing correctly. She is SWIMMING to the deep all by herself!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feet off the bottom of the pool, no swimming device to help her, folks she is doing it ALL BY HERSELF!!!!!!!
We are so proud of her and to see her so proud of herself makes my heart fill up with joy!

I am not sure what clicked with her, but whatever it is, I will take it!!!!! We have 3 more days left of lessons, she says that she might just jump in the pool in the deep end!?!?!?!?!
If that happens, this ole' momma may just have a big time HAPPY DANCE!!!!!
We are about to head to swimming lessons now, so stay tuned for hopefully another SUCCESS STORY!!!!!!!

P.S. If you are wondering how Drew is doing with swimming lessons, well, lets just say that we are praying that whatever clicked with Grace Anne will rub off on him!!!! HA!

Mother/Son trip to the Lake!

Last week Drew and I spent 2 days at the lake with my friend Brandy and her boys. We had a BLAST! It was weird not having Grace Anne there with us (she went on a church trip to Charleston instead), but it was nice to be able to spend time with just my boy.:-)

It's finally beginning to feel like SUMMERTIME!!!!

School got out on May 27th and the very next day I found myself in the bed for 2 days with strep throat!!!! Then on June 3rd Daniel had open heart surgery. So, I guess you can say that our summer started off with a BANG! HA!

Even though the past month or so has been hectic, I am thankful for this journey that God has taken us on. We have been blessed more than we could ever imagine.

Things have finally settled down and we are beginning to enjoy our SUMMER! Daniel started back to work this week and is feeling GREAT! The kids and I have been enjoying going to the movies, library and swimming! I have also had some little helpers around the house this week!

Also, REMEMBER THIS POST ????? Well, all that hard work is paying off!!!

We are enjoying fresh veggies from our garden!!!! YUMYUM!!!! Have I mentioned I LOVE summer!?!?!?!:-)

Summer Fun!

This weekend we have took it easy and mostly hung out around the house. The kids have enjoyed splashing around in the pool.

On the 4th we went over to our friends house for a BBQ! We had a good time visiting with friends and the kids had a BLAST playing!

It has been a nice relaxing LONG weekend. Daniel is excited because this week he is going back to WORK!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!! It has only been 4weeks since his surgery and he is just about back to normal! God is so good!!!!
