The rest of our adventure in the SNOW!!!!

To sum up the rest of our trip, it consisted of playing in the SNOW!

and this is what happens when you tell a 3 year old it is time to go inside!

I guess you are wondering if we ever got home?

after MUCH shoveling and HARD work by the guys,

we FINALLY got out of the parking lot!!!!

I could not think of a better family that I would want to take this wild and crazy adventure with! Thanks Allen, Tami and Alexander for tons of fun and LOTS of memories! We are looking forward to our next Dulaney/Clabo vacation, just without the snow!!!!!:-)

A weekend FULL of memories!

This past weekend we had a super fun weekend planed with our dear friends The Clabo's(Allen, Tami and Alexander). On Friday morning we headed to Bryson City, NC. to ride The Polar Express Train and to stay the weekend in a lovely cabin. All was going well until we ran into this..............................................................................

The interstate was COVERED and the snow was falling hard and fast!

Daniel and Alexander checking it out

to see why they traffic was not moving. We sat in this same spot for at least 30mins.!

and here is Daniel with his "I'm not so sure about this" look! HA!

We were about 40miles from Bryson City and we knew that we would NEVER make it with all the snow, so we stopped at the first exit that had a hotel! I guess you can stay that we were officially snowed in at the Comfort Inn!!! Despite the change of plans, we still had a great time! The kids were good sports about not riding The Polar Express Train. I think the snow made up for it!

Since we did not have anything else to do, we headed outside and had some FUN in the snow!!!!!
(Bare with me, I have TONS of pictures)

Can you tell there was some snowball fights going on?

and here is the snowman!!!!
After we all came in and got warm and dry, Daniel and Alexander walked to get us dinner. After making several stops at places that were CLOSED they found a steak house that was open and bought us dinner!
After dinner it was time for the Dulaney/Clabo Christmas! The kids were ready for PRESENTS!
It was a great time by everyone
but I think these two had the best time out of us all!:-)
Here are the kids showing off their presents from Alexander!
They LOVE him so much and look up to him, and I am so glad because he is a GREAT role model to look up to!

We are so blessed and thankful to have this sweet family in our life!!!!
Okay that is all of day 1 of the trip. I will post the rest tomorrow!!!
The kids and I are now heading to town and finishing up last minute Christmas shopping! PRAY FOR US! :-)

Drew takes the stage

Here is Drew on Friday at his school's Christmas program
He is the 4th from the left on the back row:-)

He was so proud!

Then on Sunday night he took the stage along with the rest
of the preschool choir at church!

so cute and sweet

until it was his turn to say his one little line that we have
been practicing for a MONTH!!!

Here he is laughing with the crowd.
Why is he laughing?
Well, you know Drew, he had to steal the show and not just say
his ONE little line, he had to add a few lines and giggles to it!!!

It was such a blessing to see these sweet children(ages 2-5) share the story of Jesus.

Playing catch up!

Here are pictures from this past weekend!

Grace Anne's school had a book fair at Barnes and Noble, the kids had a BLAST! Teachers from the school were in different areas of the store reading to the children, the school cheerleaders were there along with the choir.

Here are the kids listening to GA's teacher read a story!

On Saturday Drew had a BALL at his "girlfriend" Sary's Birthday party!!!

and last but not least, Sunday night Grace Anne sang with the children's choir at church. They did a wonderful job!
GA LOVES singing in the choir, I tried to download the video but it did not work.:-( She is the 3rd from the left on the front row, she has on the black and sliver dress!

Traditions

I love Christmas, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year. We try our very best to keep the focus on Jesus. As most of you know, we do not play the Santa game at our house (you can click here to go my post from last year and read all about that) but we still have TONS of fun making lots of memories!

During the month of December we have lots of traditions that we do.

One of the traditions that the kids LOVE is the pickle ornament. The pickle ornament is a German tradition. It is the last ornament hung on the tree, the child that finds the ornament first gets to open a present. I changed the rules a little bit this year, I gave in when I saw BIG crocodile tears in the child's eyes that did not find the pickle first, so they BOTH got a small surprise(coloring books)!

Here are the kids looking

High and

Low to find the hidden pickle!

and GA was the winner!!!

What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions?

Yes, that is a question, so that means you MUST leave a comment!

Christmas Pictures!

Okay, I know I have been slack and have not blogged, but I have been BUSY!!! This working outside the home thing is hard!!! I am still trying to figure out how to get everything done!
I have several pictures I want to share, but they are still on my camera! I have not had time to download them, maybe I will get to that later on in the week, but until then I will leave you with these picture!
My friend Chasity Wilson called me about a month ago and she needed to borrow the kids. So, we headed over to her studio for a fun photo session!
