Our 1 Arm Gymnast
Grace Anne was bummed that she could not participate in her gymnastics recital. She had been working VERY hard on her routines, but she was not going to let having a broke arm get her down. She still wanted to be apart of the recital, so she went and sat with her team. They received a ribbon for each event and they all got medals! She was very excited and had a great time! We are very proud of her for going and supporting her team/friends. They worked very hard and had a great time this year!

Weekend with daddy
I had a WONDERFUL time this weekend! I will share more about my weekend later, but I wanted to post some pictures.
On Friday, Daniel and Drew took the senior adults to Swan Lake. Drew was VERY excited about going. He told us that he was going on a field trip like Grace Anne! I don't know which he was excited about the most, riding the bus or seeing the "ducks".
Here are some pictures that I received from Daniel on my phone.

They had a great time and made it home just in time to pick Grace Anne up from school and go to Sonic and enjoy an afternoon snack! (thanks Daniel for getting one up on me, Grace Anne has already asked if I will take her to Sonic next week after school):-)
They are just too sweet!
I LOVED getting surprised with pictures all day on Friday, but I guess Daniel got burned out by Saturday because I did not received anymore!:-)
They had a fun "DADDY WEEKEND"!
I was glad to get home to my family. It was nice to see the front door sling open and hear a BIG "MOMMY!!!!" when I pulled in the driveway. I love my family and thank God for them everyday!

this weekend.......
I am going to Charleston to the Women of Joy conference! I am very excited and have been looking forward to this conference for the past couple of months. Little did I know that this weekend would fall right at the time when I need it most!
The past 6 months or so have been extremely hard for me. I have been going through the motions of my everyday routine, but at the same time have been numb.
So, I am looking forward to this weekend and praying that God will give me closure, peace and guidance.
I am going to miss Daniel and the kids, but after this past weekend and week, my nerves need a break!
Grace Anne is doing GREAT! She has been back to school since Wednesday. Having a cast has not stopped her at all! I have been on pins and needles trying to get her to understand that she can't run around and climb on stuff with one hand!
Have I mentioned I am READY for this weekend get away! :-)

We got a CAST.......
Today we went to see the doctor and Grace Anne got a cast! I bet you can't guess what color she got.................PINK! Are you surprised???:-)
She has amazed me on how well she has done with all of this. She has been a great patient and has not let having only 1 good arm stop her!
Here are some pictures of her getting the cast

She will have to wear this one for 3 weeks and
She is smiling in EVERY picture and that is because she has been very upbeat and happy throughout this whole process. I pray that she will continue to have such a good attitude. I don't think she realizes how long 5 weeks is.
Well that is all for now, we are about to go and let some friends sign her cast(against my will). Grace Anne wants her cast signed so I guess I have to let go of my OCD on this one and deal with the messy looking cast!!!!:-)

Broken.......
Friday night was a great example of how plans can change in an instant.
Grace Anne was so excited because her friend Maggie was spending the night! We picked the girls up from school and came home. They played and played and was having a GREAT time! We ate dinner and the kids wanted to go out to play, so we all headed outside. It was not too long after that our "plans" for the evening came to a halt and we were headed to the ER with Grace Anne.
She was swinging and somehow fell out of the swing and landed on her face. Daniel rushed over to help her, she was crying and holding her wrist (that was very much swollen and did not look normal at all). I have to admit that I did not handle this well at all! I felt sick at my stomach and all I wanted to do was take the pain away from my baby girl.
As God would have it, our wonderful neighbors Shannon and Jordan were outside talking to us. They were a HUGE blessing, we left the kids with them and then spent the next 3 hours in the ER.
Grace Anne was a TROOPER! I am so proud of her! She was very calm through it all (unlike her mom). She got upset at times, but she handled the whole ordeal a lot better than I would have!
The ER was wonderful, they got us back within 15 mins. and began taking care of her. The x-rays did show that she had broken her radius bone (the bone in her wrist).

Here she is after she got her IV(which she DID NOT like at all). She was a lot happier after it was over! They had to give her some medicine that made her fall asleep for a few minutes so they could set her bone back in place. She did great!

Here she today! She has done very well, she was in pain this morning, but after she got some pain medicine in her she is doing better.

Grace Anne is having a HARD time dealing with the fact that she broke her left arm and she is LEFT handed! She loves to draw and color, she is my crafty girl. This morning she tried writing with her right hand......she got very discouraged. Please pray that she will adjust to this.

This is what she will be doing for the next couple of days.......REST! We go next week to the doctor and they will do more x-rays and see if the bone is setting correctly. If it is, she will then get a hard cast. If not, they may have to do surgery to reset the bone. We are praying for the first!
Again, we are holding Jeremiah 29:11 close to our hearts. Already God has taught us so much through this. I am glad that God is in control of our lives. His plans are always better than ours!

Please keep us in your prayers, the next 6 weeks or so will definitely be challenging, especially for Grace Anne!
*By the way, Grace Anne was very upset that Maggie did not get to spend the night with her! She is already asking when are we going to reschedule the sleep over! I promised her we would VERY SOON!

Tune in TONIGHT!!!! /Field Trip
Tune in tonight at 7p.m est by going to http://www.mogulus.com/jkallen!
You know our friend Tami that we are praying for? Well tonight you can tune in and see where her son Alexander is going to COLLEGE!!!
Alexander is a wonderful kid! He is the young man that we all pray that our son's will be or that our daughter's will marry! Not only is he smart as a whip, he is very grounded in his faith. I know Allen and Tami are so proud of him! We all are!
The Clabo's have family and friends in all different states and this is such a neat way for them to be a part of this special event in Alexander's life!
Now on to Grace Anne's field trip to Swan Lake

Yesterday all 5 kindergarten classes went on their last field trip for the year! I can't believe that I am going to have a 1st grader in a few weeks! By the way, that makes me REALLY sad!!! Anyway, we had a great time. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
